A House for Hermit Crab
Hermit Crab lives inside a comfy shell that he carries around on his back – but he’s getting too big for it! So one day he moves out onto the sea floor, in search of a bigger shell. When he finds a bigger place, a sea anemone offers to move in with him, and a starfish gives him decorating tips. A snail and a sea urchin are employed for cleaning and protection, while a lantern fish gives lighting, and smooth pebbles are used for a wall. Hermit Crab lives happily for a while… until he grows too big again! A dynamic and involving tale about accepting change and working together, brought alive by Eric Carle’s iconic paper-collage art.
