There are only two things Jelly likes about her falling-down new house: the old apricot tree and the creek over the back fence. One night, Jelly and her cousins spot something in the creek’s dark water. At first they think it’s a bird, but it is something much stranger and rarer: a baby angel with a broken wing. And they decide to keep it. But as things start to go wrong, Jelly discovers that you can’t just take something from where it belongs and expect it won’t be missed… A beautiful and moving story for anyone who has ever felt scared or brave or angry or tough, or believed that angels might really and truly be out there.
