As a father of two young daughters trying to make it in the world, this book makes me want to cry. You’ve published a reduction of all a young girl can be to how “gorgeous” they can look. To all concerned – and I’m looking straight at you “Fiona Foden” or whoever you really are – no doubt a team of product creators thinking about sales and market share – you really must have died a little to publish this book. So sales might keep you in Sunday brunches at your local gastro pub, but it’s at the cost of belittled, dumbed-down girls across the nation who will spend a lifetime worrying about their looks, their weight, and every other impediment to them feeling “fabulous”. You must be so proud.

Thank you so much for writing this book – I can now explain to my mum what I’d rather be doing than studying. Thanks also for the ‘sister’ or should I say ‘brother’ book aimed at my brother ‘How To Be Clever’. I’m not quite sure what you’re trying to tell me about my previous attempts to get an education, but thanks goodness I didn’t waste too much time on my education before the futility of this for a girl was pointed out to me!
