The Two Towers

The Company of the Ring is sundered. The wizard Gandalf is lost, fallen to his doom in the Mines of Moria. Boromir has succumbed to the seductive and evil power of the Ring. And while Frodo and Sam made their escape, the rest of the company were attacked by Orcs. Now only Frodo and Sam are left to take the accursed Ring to be destroyed in the dark kingdom of Mordor, in the terrible Cracks of Doom. They continue their journey alone down the great River Anduin – alone, that is, save for the mysterious creeping figure that follows wherever they go…

Thus continues Tolkien’s magnificent fantasy saga begun in The Fellowship of the Ring, which reaches its soul-stirring climax in The Return of the King.
