Kaye Umansky

Kaye Umanksy has written many books for children, from picture books to novels, and is probably best known for the Pongwiffy books.

As a child Kaye lived in Plymouth, Devon and spent lots of time on the beach. She was a bit of a daydreamer at school, but loved music and performing and writing her own stories.

Before becoming a children’s author, Kaye has acted, been a post woman, folded sheets in a laundry, taught in primary schools and sung in soul bands.

She now lives in North London with her husband, daughter and two cats.
